  • Last night my cousin Janie, who is several years older than me, watched her first HP movie. (I played POA.) She said she liked it and wouldn't mind watching another one.

It says the the Star Wars screenings began at 7 p.m. Thurs evening and that $60 marathon tickets were included. The DH2 record is based on screenings from 12:01 a.m. Fri and did not include marathon ticket prices. Therefore, do you think this record breaking is based on a level-playing field with all variables being the same? If SW7 should have happened to break DH2's preview record, then it should only be for showings after midnight, and the price of other movies should not be included.

Someone on FB claimed that DH2 had airings as early as 7 p.m. Thurs. Is this true? Or was it midnight?

I'm so glad I decided to go. Turn out was phenomenal. Hundreds of fans of all ages were there. Saw people dressed as Draco Malfoy (I chatted with him outside), Mrs Weasley, Mad-Eye Moody, Bellatrix, Snape, and Sirius Black. The employees working the event all wore house scarves. On one of the floors, they had music fom the soundtracks playing. It felt so nice to be with so many fellow fans. And I bought this print. http://www.artmonkeyworld.com/store/p193/Spells.html

  • Guess what I got at my favorite thrift store yesterday for $1.50? The Tales of Beedle the Bard! :)

I was there this evening and saw a hardbound edition of DH on the shelf. Less than an hour later, it had been bought by someone. (The Twilight books remain untouched.)

Yeah I am but Toronto is like 6 hours away :(
  • I finally saw a hardbound Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone book at Savers, but it didn't have its jacket. So close, yet so far.

  • Bought a 2 disc POA movie set at my favorite thrift store today. There was also another Scene It game there. I wonder how long it'll be before someone purchases it. Unlike Twilight items, Harry Potter merchandise doesn't seem to linger on the shelves.

  • I was back at my favorite thrift store yesterday. Bought a factory-sealed 2 disc COS movie and special features for less than $3. I was also there this past Friday and saw four HP hardbound books, which I already had. By Monday they were all gone.

  • Yesterday I was behind this minivan with a Potter Always sticker in the back window. The A was part of the Deathly Hallows symbol and the lways was in the HP book font.

  • Guess what? I was back at Savers today and this time I found a HP Mystery at Hogwarts board game! (I know it couldn't have been there long, because it wasn't there the other day.) The game has all its pieces and is in very good condition.

I forgot to mention that a few months back I came across hard bound editions of POA and GOF. This thrift store has been a treasure trove for HP merchandise. I also saw one for OOTP, but didn't get it because it didn't have a jacket.

I forgot to mention that the cashier was also a Harry Potter fan. We even got into a brief discussion about our favorite characters and one of hers was Severus Snape. So I began singing The Mysterious Ticking Noise "Snape...Snape...Severus Snape...Snape...Snape....Severus Snape" and she joined in with "Dumbledore!"

What's funny to me is that there was also a Twilight Scene It there for several months and it finally got purchased. (I go to this store at least twice a week so I'm familiar with what's there.)

  • CoS is on right now on ABC, but I'm not watching it. Instead, I'm going to do what I was doing five years ago. I was at my computer, saw it was 9 p.m. CT, and turned on my local news. Then, during one of the commercial breaks, I decided to flip through the channels to see what else was on. That's when I came across my first exposure to a Harry Potter movie. I want to relive that experience.

Sorry, it was six years ago, not five. Anyway, it turns out some Nascar race was on the other channel and it was, thankfully, during the final few laps. So, after it ended, I turned to ABC to watch the rest of CoS. (They put their commercial breaks in the most annoying places.)

  • I know this will never happen, but I think if Jo was to write another HP-based series it should be about Albus Severus. Like HP it would be seven books with the first book being released the same year as Albus's final year at Hogwarts (2017-2023). This tale would also employ the ring composition. Oh, and Harry dies at the end.
