    Paranormal Activity 2 - 3/10

I was scared as fuck when it began. When it ended, I began wondering if it was a joke and if the real PA2 was somewhere hidden. No scares. Nothing. The only scares, which technically weren't scares, we're moments when the camera is just steady during the night, making you think something is going to pop up.

The actual scenes meant to be scary? Yeah, nothing. I laughed. Baby being dragged? Laughed my ass off. Mother being dragged? Laughed my ass off. Dad getting his neck broken? Laughed my ass off. Mother getting round house kicked? Laughed my ass off.

Gotta say, it was disappointing :(

The Adventures of Tintin - 8.5/10

One of the most entertainting movies I've seen in a while. Mo-cap was flawless and there was no hint of uncanny valley. Great performances by everyone, especially Andy Serkis as Haddock. Good amount of humor as well, although some of it was a bit hit and miss. Breathtaking action and CGI.

    Horrible Bosses-8.5/10
It was a lot funnier than I expected it to be. Day, Bateman, Sudeikis, Aniston, Farrel work well together.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 10/10
Best film in the series, no doubt.
    Dark in the whole movie.
  • The Social Network (David Fincher, 2010) 3/5
Watching a movie with high expectations can not only harm the experience but also make you question yourself of why it was so acclaimed and praised. The Social Network is, of course, a really well directed and photographed movie. We couldn't expect less from an experient director like David Fincher. But, my overall impression is that the movie doesn't comunicate well. It's a cold film, devoid of any emotional empathy. The character development is flat and bland, and I was never really into their dramas. I couldn't help the feeling of distance while watching it. Besides, it's funny the editing approach. It's true that the timeless approach gives the movie a more dynamic pace, but the question is: was it an artistic option or just a way to try to keep the audience attention because the plot wasn't strong enough to do so?

  • Shallow Hal (Bobby and Peter Farrelly, 2001) 3/5 REWATCHED
It's actually not my type of humor and too stupid sometimes, but it is really entertaining. Every time I rewatch this, it seems like it is the first time I'm seeing. I miss some comedies from the 2000's.

The Help (Tate Taylor, 2011) 4/5
    image
Such a beautiful movie. It's inspiring, emotional, and infinitely powerful. Viola Davis does it yet again! Octavia Spencer also delivers! Emma Stone is great and beautiful - as always :x While it does 'gloss over' some of the cruelty of the treatment of African American's in the 60's, we do get a look at it.

Green Lantern (Extended Edition) - 57%
    image

Is it a bad film? More or less. Is it the worst film ever made? No way.
The Extended Edition of Green Lantern is an entertaining
experience with likeable characters. Ryan Reylonds was
    surprisingly good as Hal Jordan!

In this edition, we got to see more of the
    father/son relationship, which was utterly
great because it allowed me to connect with
the character and feel something for him.

His duty as a Green Lantern was exhilarating
and getting the chance to explore Oa was
mesmerizing. The production value was remarkable.

The script in the theatrical version was pretty
weak but adding those extra 9 minutes made
    it sort of bearable.

All in all, I'd say that "Green Lantern" is an
average superhero film with the sole purpose
    of entertaining an audience.

Give it a chance (but watch the extended cut!).

No I saw it in theaters. It's a shame because it was my second most anticipated (before I saw trailers) because, idk, I thought it could be as epic a certain billion dollar DC trilogy...

Saving Private Ryan (Directed by Steven Spielberg - 1998)

Gritty, raw, and realistic. Saving Private Ryan is a near perfect film. It is filled in such a way that you get absorbed in the battle scenes! ''Unflinchingly realistic war film virtually redefines the genre.''

    And a stunning opening sequence.

I felt such a connection with Bruce Wayne, I almost have to watch The Dark Knight afterwards to complete it. I'm gonna be emotional in Rises.

You can say when a movie is entertaining when you can notice that the actors are really having a great time on screen. And that's what M:I Ghost Protocol is about: fun and entertainment - without underestimating your mental abilities. The action scenes are well directed and the tension mood present is most of the sequences are great. I left the theather wanting more.

HUGO - Empty. Bland. CGI was iffy at times. Ben Kingsley's acting ability was hindered by this plot. Richard Griffiths and Frances De La Tour were pointless to the plot. Asa Butterfield needs a better acting coach lol he came across as cold and bored.

    Overall: 3/10

GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO - Striking. Bold. Rooney Mara is the perfect Lisbeth in my eyes. The visuals were delicious, the performances by Mara, Plummer, and Skarsgard were great. Soundtrack was very complementary to the work. Daniel Craig did a fair job. I enjoyed the plot change at the end, it wasn't too drastic and worked very well for the film. 9/10

    The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

I will give the filmmakers credit for trying to inject some life into the franchise again by opting for more suspense than in the past and for focusing on Bella's choice of marrying Edward and becoming a vampire or living a normal life as represented by Jacob. That said, it's a pretty thin and drawn out conflict (introduced in the last movie) with two-dimensional characters that once again ruins all its credibility as the serious drama it attempts to be. A couple enjoyable moments of self-irony, like Bella joking about the seriousness in telling her father about the marriage (who for some unexplained reason hates Edward), merely goes to show how laughably blown up the whole concept is. The middle drags, the relationship between Bella and Edward is as stiff and forced as ever and Jacob is too much of an egoistic drama queen to care about. Kristen Stewart's limited facial expressions make almost half of her scenes awkward to watch, and is Bella ever happy?

Technically, the series upped its game with this installment. The cinematography was at times gorgeous and without the exaggerated use of colour filters that plagued the first movie, and the climax managed to engage. Something that surprised me positively was the parallel between the werewolves' tale and Bella's action at the end and the contrast between her mindset and that of the vampire who is jealous at her for having a choice, whose backstory is shown in a flashback. Otherwise there were too many backstories and irrelevant names thrown out when something more relevant to the plot like Bella's promise in the second movie to become a vampire needed to be made clearer to the audience than just being referenced.

I may watch the newest movie and the upcoming finale one day... If only out of curiosity to find out whether the films manage to immortalize the mediocrity of this installment, which is the best we can hope for from this franchise, or if they fall back to New Moon dreadfulness.
