I remember watching the first one with a friend. The thing is, as scary as it can be for some, they didn't really react that much; so I took it upon myself to scare the living hell out of them. It worked, but I got punched in a rather sensitive area. :P

Must be a new take on it, and I know what you mean. Hercules was never black. A new take on the story, but one thing he does have is the body for it.

They tend to be, and you can usually tell what they're meant to look like, even from the animated film that released in 1997. I loved that as a kid. :)

Er... just cause they are about the same character, does not mean they are the same plot. For example, Disney's Hercules movie, is totally different from the Hercules miniseries that starred Sean Astin and Leelee Sobieski.

Warner Bros. has secured three important figures to work on "Fables", a film adaptation of DC Comics' series. Nikolaj Arcel, the man behind the lens for Alicia Vikander-starring "A Royal Affair", has been appointed to take charge of the film. The Danish filmmaker will team up with "Harry Potter" producers, David Heyman and Jeffrey Clifford of Heyday Films.

"Fables" was created in 2002 by Bill Willingham. The series follows fairytales and folklore characters, from Snow White to the Big Bad Wolf, who are kicked out of their world and form a clandestine community in New York City known as Fabletown. It has snatched fourteen Eisner Awards, including Best New Series in 2003 and Best Short Story in 2007.

The Hollywood Reporter, which broke the news first, also learns that the project has already got a screenwriter attached. Jeremy Slater of upcoming untitled New Fantastic Four project has been hired to provide the script. Still in early development stage, the film has no start date yet.

Arcel's "Royal Affair" was made in 2012, also starring Mads Mikkelsen and Mikkel Folsgaard. Receiving rave reviews from critics, the Oscar-nominated historical drama led Folsgaard to be the winner of the Silver Bear for Best Actor at the Berlin Film Fesitval in the same year.

Posted this in the wrong thread:
Many Friday The 13th fans have been wondering what the long delay is with the Friday The 13th sequel that so many people want to see happen. Delays and rights issues seemed to be at the forefront of the problems, but some huge news just broke today that lends a little insight into why! Check out the bomb that the Hollywood Reporter just dropped on everyone.

When Paramount and Warner Bros. teamed up on Christopher Nolan’s latest movie project,Interstellar, in January, some wondered how Warners made its way on board a project set up at a rival studio.

Now, months later,The Hollywood Reporter has learned more about the price that Warners had to pay in exchange for half the Nolan project. The cast of characters includes Friday the 13th villain Jason Voorhees as well as the foul-mouthed kids from South Park.

Warners, which released Nolan’s megagrossing Batman movies and maintains an overall deal with his Syncopy label, wanted in on Interstellar so badly it gave Paramount its rights to co-finance the next Friday the 13th horror film as well as its portion of a future South Park movie. Also part of the deal was an agreement to let Paramount co-finance a to-be-determined A-list Warners property.

Warner Bros. and Paramount declined to comment on the arrangement.

However, there is a catch: Sources say Paramount only enjoys the rights for both titles for the next five years and has that amount of time to make follow-up movies.

UPDATED: This is huge! I bet we see a new Friday The 13th film coming very, very soon with Paramount having a 5 year window to fully finance their own Friday The 13th film! More details coming soon.
