    M. Night Shyamalan has continuously been disappointing with the films he makes. Maybe he can redeem himself with this, but that's a big maybe.

I do know the fact that he didn't wrote the original idea behind this film, it was Will Smith. Shyamalan adapted that idea with another screenwriter. I've read that the film is more like a scary sci-fi film ala Signs or Sixth Sense than a blockbuster.

Well from what I've seen in the trailers so far, it looks like it could be good.

What is it with Will Smith and end of the world scenarios? First 'I Am Legend' now this.

He sure likes his mutations in human beings and animals. I wonder if he'll ever end up mutated for a film role.

I did hear some good stuff for After Earth from some of the people from the press. Anyway, not all reviews should be published before a movie comes out.

Some people will love it, and some people will hate it. This will be very mixed.

Of course. The thing is, it was always like this with Shyamalan's films. Sixth Sense had bad reviews before the movie came out, but not everybody we're able to read them in Rotten Tomatoes or IMDB, which is why it became a sucess.

About Now You See Me, there's a few reviews out there:

    IT STARTS! LMAO

    http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/after_earth/

Putting movies under embargo is NEVER.... I repeat... NEVER... a good sign. Now You See Me still have no official reviews published, 1 day before the release of the movie. Apparently, two bombs premiering this weekend. And the worse? I'll go watch them both. Haha :D

This is not an official review - besides it is terribly written and you have posted it before. When I talk about reviews I'm talking about Variety, THR. And if they haven't published yet it is because its under embargo and the production company can even sue them. And I haven't seen any positive official reviews from the specialized press of After Earth. The movie started with 4 rotten reviews. That says a lot about of what is coming. If you still prefer to believe that will have a good reception from the critics, it's your choice and I wash my hands.

And where did The Sixth Sense had bad reviews in the begining? The movie was even nominated to the Oscars and it was a sensation everywhere was shown. And how could you know that anyways? You're younger than me and when the movie was released I was 10 years old and didnt even know what a review was. Lol

There are a lot of film specialists in this forum. Gotta love it.

And not. It never been always like this with Shyamalan. I follow his career since The Village and that was when his movies started to fail with the official press. And guess what? The Happening, The Lady In The Water and The Last Airbender received bad reviews since the beginning and that never change. Positive reviews didnt appear out of nowhere.

Hey guys... Is anyone watching the The Kings of Summer this weekend?

Reviews had been good, it's a coming-of-age film (my fav genre). Unfortunately, it is not premiering here in Canada :(
