Amazing how close Brad Pitt was to filming in my local area. I had signed up to be extra (working with him) but they cancelled and moved to Glasgow. :(

Though, that poster does look good!

    aaaawww :(
But I'm glad to hear that you might be an extra on the new X-Men film! :D

Thinking ahead, I look forward to seeing you in Days of Future Past. Have they said what they will be filming when they film where you are? I'm asking because, before they cancelled, World War Z was due to have a "feature shoot with Brad Pitt, featuring extras as zombies" and I don't care how some people see it; working with Brad Pitt in such a capacity would look great on any resume.

Yes, particularly if you're planning on putting yourself forward for other film roles. Of course, it wouldn't hurt to have it on your resume for everything else, but that's not the point. If I had worked with Brad Pitt, putting that on my talent profile for the agency I'm signed with would have looked very good on my part.

Nothing is guaranteed, but don't worry about the people who might think you're a liar if you don't get picked. We heard from the twins themselves that some people believed James and Oliver were lying about being cast in Potter, but I'll bet they were laughing at the naysayers when they turned up at school with dyed ginger hair. You know you've applied and that's it.

Chances are, if it's a big shoot with plenty of people involved, they'll need plenty of extras. The more people needed, the bigger your chance. So, I'm just going to show you optimism, but don't be too disappointed if you don't get picked. I had it in the bag, but they cancelled; imagine that for bad luck.

Exactly. Sure, this didn't end up happening, but I moved on. Since then, I've featured in an Olympics commercial, and I'm looking for more while I work on my own short films.

I was disappointed at the time, yes. Still, it was surprising how short a time it took for me to not care at all. All I can say is, be determined, don't let anything get you down, and do whatever you can do to succeed, letting nobody stand in your way.

    300: Rise of an Empire

    image

    image

Based on Frank Miller’s latest graphic novel Xerxes, and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster “300,” this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield—on the sea—as Greek general Themistokles attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war. “300: Rise of an Empire” pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes, and Artemesia, vengeful commander of the Persian navy.

Warner Bros. Pictures presents and Legendary Pictures presents, a Cruel and Unusual Films/Mark Canton/Gianni Nunnari Production, “300: Rise of an Empire.” The action adventure stars Sullivan Stapleton (“Gangster Squad”) as Themistokles and Eva Green (“Dark Shadows,” “Casino Royale”) as Artemesia. Lena Headey reprises her starring role from “300” as the Spartan Queen, Gorgo; Hans Matheson (“Clash of the Titans”) stars as Aeskylos; and Rodrigo Santoro stars again as the Persian King, Xerxes.

The film is directed by Noam Murro, from a screenplay by Zack Snyder & Kurt Johnstad, based on the graphic novel Xerxes, by Frank Miller. It is produced by Gianni Nunnari, Mark Canton, Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder and Bernie Goldmann. Thomas Tull, Frank Miller, Stephen Jones and Jon Jashni serve as executive producers. The creative filmmaking team includes director of photography Simon Duggan, production designer Patrick Tatopoulos, editor Wyatt Smith and costume designer Alexandra Byrne. The music is composed by Federico Jusid.

“300: Rise of an Empire” will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Check out the details below direct from the studio:

Billy Crystal reprises his role as Mike Wazowski, now a college-age monster who follows his dream of becoming a Scarer at Monsters University.

John Goodman returns as James P. Sullivan (Sulley), an overly confident, young hotshot Scaring student at Monsters University.

Steve Buscemi rejoins the monster world as Randy Boggs, a Monsters University freshman who is ready to experience all that college has to offer (if only he can curb his habit of disappearing).

Helen Mirren gives voice to Dean Hardscrabble, legendary Scarer and hard-to-please head of Monsters University’s prestigious School of Scaring.

Alfred Molina is the voice of Professor Knight, an esteemed professor in Monsters University’s School of Scaring.
Dave Foley and Sean Hayes voice Terry and Terri Perry, two halves of a bickering two-headed monster and dedicated Oozma Kappa (OK) brothers.

Joel Murray voices Don Carlton, a "mature" student at Monsters University and a founding member of the Oozma Kappa (OK) fraternity.

Pixar's Peter Sohn provides the voice of Scott "Squishy" Squibbles, an undeclared sophomore at Monsters University and Oozma Kappa (OK) fraternity member who still lives with his doting mother.

Charlie Day provides the voice of the incomparable Art, an Oozma Kappa (OK) fraternity brother with a questionable past.

Nathan Fillion portrays Johnny Worthington, the confident president of Roar Omega Roar (ROR), a Monsters University fraternity that prides itself on its notable Scarers.

Bobby Moynihan helps bring to life Chet Alexander, a yes-monster member of the Roar Omega Roar (ROR) fraternity.

Julia Sweeney lends her voice to Ms. Squibbles, indulgent mother to Monsters University sophomore Scott "Squishy" Squibbles.

Aubrey Plaza gives voice to Claire Wheeler, the somber president of Monsters University’s Greek Council and emcee for the annual Scare Games.

Tyler Labine was tapped to voice Brock Pearson, vice president of the Greek Council and enthusiastic emcee of the Scare Games.

John Krasinski provides the voice of "Frightening" Frank McCay, a Scaring super star at Monsters, Inc.
Bonnie Hunt was called on to provide the voice of young Mike Wazowski’s grade school teacher Karen Graves.

Beth Behrs serves as the voice of Carrie Williams, fearless leader of the Python Nu Kappa (PNK) sorority.
John Ratzenberger returns to the Pixar recording studio as the voice of a Monsters, Inc. employee.

Lily James (Downton Abbey) has been cast as Cinderella in Disney’s upcoming live-action interpretation of the beloved classic tale. The film is being directed by Sir Kenneth Branagh and stars Cate Blanchett as the iconic evil stepmother.

Joli, you should watch Notes on a Scandal. In my opinion, it's by far one of the best female performances of the past decade.
